Best Alpine Skis in 2023 [as seen at World Cup races]

The 2022/2023 Alpine World Cup season is over. Marco Odermatt and Mikaela Shiffrin ran the show all season long. Their talent is impressive but part of their success depends on the material they use. We counted all podium places during FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2022/2023 to determine the best (most successful) alpine ski brand.

TOTAL PODIUM PLACES in FIS ALPINE WORLD CUP 2022/2023

Atomic, thanks to Mikaela Shiffrin and Alexander Aamodt Kilde, had the most 1st place finishes during the season. The Head is second in 1st place finishes but has the most total podium places.

Rossignol did not have luck getting many points for the 1st place, but their total of podium places is still impressive.

Stoeckli is all about Marco Odermatt, who was able to get the brand in fourth place at total podium finishes (and third in the 1st place finishes).

In comparison to the season 2021/2022, we have two newcomer brands in the ranking: Van Deer and Kaestle. Van Deer, the brand of Michael Hirscher showed its strengths in technical disciplines. Kaestle was strong in ladies’ speed disciplines.

If you are looking for the difference between speed (downhill, super G) and technical (giant slalom, slalom) disciplines then check the race and overall results of the 2022/2023 season here. The overall results suggest that Atomic and Head dominate both types, and Rossignol is better at technical than speed disciplines.
