Heated gloves work the same way as any other heated dress.
The tiny wires (usually made of carbon) are woven into the fabric. Wires are connected to the battery that supplies them with electric power. The electric current warms up the fibers and the warmth spreads through the textile.

Heated Gloves Material
The textile used in heated gloves is usually polyester and wool or fleece or leather.
The top of the gloves is made from nylon or other polyester and ensures they are windproof. The inside of the gloves is usually soft from wool or fleece.
The heating elements are made of carbon fibres.
Heated ski gloves have the same features as normal snow gloves. They are warm, breathable, windproof, waterproof, and usually have touch screen compatible index fingers.

Battery
Each glove has its own battery that is usually stored in an outer pocket on the gloves. The pocket is placed on the back of the glove wrist.
Different models use different types of batteries (from 2.5V to 7.4V), usually Li-ion rechargeable batteries.
Temperature Level & Battery Life
A button controls the heating of ski gloves. It is placed on the back of the glove (next to the battery).
Depending on the model, you can choose the temperature level (most models offer three different heating levels).
The battery life is usually from two up to twelve hours, depending on its use and the model. Using higher temperature levels results in a shorter battery life span and vice versa.
The recharging of the 7.4V battery takes approximately 5 to 7 hours. The smaller batteries need a shorter time for recharging.
If you are used to skiing all day, it is good to buy extra batteries and to be prepared for a switch.

Washing of Heated Ski Gloves
Heated ski gloves can be washed. However, hand washing is strongly recommended.
Some models let you do a machine wash. However, they recommend putting the heated gloves into the washing bag.
Before any wash, you need to disconnect the battery and take it out of the pocket. Never wash the battery!
It would also be best if you dried your heated gloves properly before connecting the battery again.

Heated ski gloves prices are in the range of $50 to $150.
Cheaper models have fewer temperature levels and also heat just the back of the hand. More expensive models warm the fingers too and provide bigger batteries that stand longer.
