At the start of every season, I am stuck to the TV. I watch all FIS World Competitions and really like to find out what is the gear of winners. I check what changes they made compared to last season, I look for new models of skis, helmets, gloves, and goggles. Then I search the net to find out the prices of new gear. The good thing is, that the start of the World Cup ski season is just days ahead of Black Friday. And Black Friday ski deals are the best.

Brand New Model or Old Model?
The question above is worth a million. I usually want the best models available. (I hope I am not alone in this). And new models usually have the most modern features. But no surprise the prices of new arrivals are pretty high. Therefore it is better to look for a year or two years old model. The quality is still high, but the price is much lower. More money you save on gear, more money you can spend on lift tickets on slopes. So I would wish to have just brand new equipment, but I usually buy the older models for good prices.
Looking for combo ski deals
Skis and ski boots are not cheap, therefore I like to find a good combo deal. I prefer to buy skis with bindings. It is much easier to get a better price when you buy it together. Another good example of a good combo is a combination of skis with ski poles. A ski bag is sometimes added to ski pair or you can find nice deals for ski boot bags and ski bag combinations. The only thing is you need time for the search.
You can find a lot of good deals towards the end of the ski season, but the Black Friday ski deals are usually best.
