Petra Vlhova was born in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia. The east-northern neighbor of Austria has the highest mountains, the Tatras at an altitude from 1500 to 2500 meters. Too small compared with the Alps, but high enough for starting your skiing career.

The first major success came in 2014 when she won Junior World Championship in Slalom. The event took place in Jasna, Slovakia.

Jasna is her home turf, but she later confirmed her talent and skills in other places too. Her first World Cup win came in 2015, and then year after year she improved her results.

In season 2020/2021 she started to focus more on speed disciplines (Super G & Downhill) to supplement her superior position in Slalom and Giant Slalom. Under the leadership of her coach Livio Magoni, she became a universal skier with eyes set on Overall World Cup Win and Olympics 2022.

That resulted in the Overall World Cup Win in season 2020/2021.

There is no doubt Petra Vlhova is one of the biggest and brightest stars of Alpine skiing.
