Indoor skiing starts to be quite popular during the summer. The number of ski resorts with ski slopes indoor is rising exponentially over past years, mostly in countries with hot temperatures and lack of natural snow opportunities. Ski Dubai is the best example. The tradition of skiing indoor is pretty strong in Europe, mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium. Ski tunnels for cross-country skiing are mainly in Scandinavia, especially Finland is a “hot” country for tunnel xc skiing.
We prepared a list of indoor ski resorts for downhill skiing and a list of ski tunnels for cross-country skiing. Both lists consist of resorts that have at least 1 000 ft (300 m) of ski slopes or ski tracks. If you know about the ski resort we are missing, feel free to add it in the comments section.
Indoor skiing has its advantages and disadvantages. The biggest advantage is skiing in constant temperature with no wind, rain or snowfall. Resorts offer also ski rental services and rental of ski pants or jackets too. The biggest disadvantages are short slopes and not enough steepness of slopes.
Indoor ski resorts are mainly for people who would like to try skiing for an hour or two, for beginners who will make their first tries on the snow, or snowboarders who love boarding in parks and trying new tricks.
